This One Item Can Make Food Juicier, More Nutritious, Reduce Microplastics & Mold!

Writer: Tania CuccinielloTania Cucciniello

Can you guess what it is? This one kitchen item has been proven to make food juicier, more nutritious, and reduces risk of ingesting microplastics and mold.

Could it be reusable beeswax wrap? Or glass Tupperware? While these are good answers and good kitchen items to own, the answer to all 4 is…

Titanium cutting boards! They are medical-grade, restaurant-grade metal, that eliminate the chances of microplastics or mold contamination during meal prep.

That means it’s time to ditch the plastic and wood cutting boards… yes wood too!

Wood Cutting Boards

Even traditional wood cutting boards need frequent replacement due to warping, and bacteria buildup, like black mold. When I saw the black spores lurking under my wood cutting board, I was horrified!

I immediately purchased by new titanium cutting boards online. Wood is porous; therefore, water gets absorbed into the cracks, and this can lead to build-up of toxic mold.

A recent study from Yale Pediatrics Research found that children were getting sick after home-cooked meals if the parents used wood cutting boards. The research found that E. coli and Salmonella survive even after thorough washing. These are very dangerous bacteria and a child’s immune system isn’t strong enough yet to fight off what gets released from wood cutting boards.

An adult’s immune system may be able to fight it off, but why take the chance over something like a cutting board?

Plastic Cutting Boards

Even more harmful in the kitchen are plastic cutting boards. They release so many microplastics into your food every time you cut on them. They are made up of synthetic polymers, rubber, and include glue and coatings that cling to the food we cut and eat.

Plastic cutting boards have increased in popularity, claiming to be the more sanitary option, easier to clean, dishwasher safe, durable, and more affordable… All that is false, except for the affordability. Sure, they’re cheaper than wood and titanium, but at the cost of your health.

Research now shows that modern society, inhales, eats, and absorb microplastics through out skin. This is causing a number a of health concerns, ranging from allergic reactions, gut issues, to respiratory issues. In fact, Harvard Medicine Magazine stated in an article titled “Microplastics Everywhere” written in 2023:

“Studies in cell cultures, marine wildlife, and animal models indicate that microplastics can cause oxidative damage, DNA damage, and changes in gene activity, known risks for cancer development.”

These tiny particles, flakes, fibers, and bits should be avoided as best as possible. Making smart choices as consumers is where we can take matters into our own hands.

Titanium Cutting Boards

Titanium cutting boards is a smart consumer choice! The benefits are lengthy and surprising, and I personally love them!

Pros:

  • Durable

  • Non-porous

  • Easy to clean

  • Doesn’t dull knives

  • Doesn’t release harmful toxins

  • No mold growth

  • No odor

  • Never cracks

  • Lasts forever

  • Retains all juices from food

  • More nutrient-dense meals

Check out all the juice that stays on the board and doesn’t get lost in the cracks or absorbed by the wood. Since using titanium cutting boards, I find food much tastier because I’m not losing any juice, and it all goes into the meal! This cutting board is more about absorbing nutrients than meal prepping.

If you see lots of spores on your wood cutting board, or lots of etches in your plastic cutting board, unfortunately, you’re ingesting these. It’s time to switch to titanium for your health and longevity, and that of your family as well.

I have no personal affiliation with PureCut Titanium cutting boards, but I highly recommend them so that your meals can be tastier, juicier, and more nutritious too! Will you make the switch to titanium during Nutrition Awareness Month?
